EDUCATION:
SCHOOL: In Ploče finished primary school and Natural sciences and mathematics gymnasium with excellent success. He participated in regional competition of young physicists in 1989. After Primary School he also finished Music School in Ploče (instrument violin, class of Professor Bauer Tibor).
BACHELOR DEGREE: 18th July 1997 graduated at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture University of Split, department of Electronics (study curriculum of control engineering) with a degree in electrical engineering.
During the 2nd year of study he was in the Professor Vuletin’s group Physics of elementary particles.
During the 4th year of study he was a student-assistant for the course of Bio-cybernetics.MASTERS DEGREE: 3rd September 2004 received Master of Science degree at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture University of Split. Thesis subject: Application of Wavelets in Biomedical Date Processing on the Example of X-ray Compression in Occupational Asbestosis
DOCTORS DEGREE: 19th October 2011 received PhD degree at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture University of Split. Dissertation subject: Suppressing Illumination Variations in Motion Detection by Wavelet Transform
TRAINING:
After attaining Bachelor degree participated in CEEPUS Program at Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Ljubljana on the projects of Speech recognition, Coordination of robotic movements by image analysis, Biomechanics and Rehabilitation of human locomotion.
1998: after 10 months of military service attained basic military training and specialist naval-technical training (ship’s electrical engineering)
1998-2003: conducted autonomous research of asbestosis and possibilities of computer aided diagnostics of asbestosis
1999-2001: participated in shaping and preparing of new laboratory programs required by STCW Convention
Was a postgraduate student at LABACS at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture University of Split

Since 1997 employed at College of Maritime Studies University of Split as Junior Research Assistant-Adjunct Collaborator for laboratory and auditory exercises in courses: Ship’s electrical engineering, Materials in Electrical Engineering, Ship’s electrical engineering and electronics, Electrotechnical systems and for course of Electrical engineering at Department for sea and seafaring studies.
In 1998 he was in Croatian Navy.
23rd May 2001 held his Inaugurator lecture with subject “Optical cables – characteristics and application”.

During his employment at Faculty of Maritime Studies University of Split Igor Vujović has been performing also managing and administrative functions. Since May 16th 2006 he has been the secretary of the Postgraduate Study and a member of the Committee for Postgraduate Study of Faculty of Maritime Studies University of Split.
He is also a member of Committee for Administering Student Surveys (2004/05-member; 2005/06-member, 2006/07-cochairman, 2007/08-cochairman). From October 2008 to 2010, he is a member of Committee for scientific work, deputy chief of department for Marine electrical engineering and information technology and commissioner for student surveys in quality assessment of educational process in academic years 2008/2009 – 2011/12.
He is one of executive editors of the journal „Transactions on Maritime Science“ (2011-) and in the Organizing Committee of IMSC (INTERNATIONAL MARITIME SCIENCE CONFERENCE, 2012, 2013, 2014) and technical committee of IMSC 2017, ND 2016 International Conference on Wireless Communication and Sensor Network (Wuhan, China).
In addition to classical fields of ship’s electrical engineering, electronics, materials in electrical engineering and technologies, he dedicates substantial time to the fields of: wavelets, robot and computer vision, signal and image processing, telemedicine, biomedical engineering, medical imaging and nanotechnology.
